THE FIELD VERSION
What we can actually verify
Our current public Field Station catalog does not contain a verified Pennsylvania clothing-optional beach or park. Pennsylvania State Park rules explicitly require opaque coverage of specified body areas, so state-park beaches should not be presented as nude-recreation destinations.
How to plan this region
Pennsylvania’s state-park rules are unusually useful for trip planning because they spell out an attire requirement: the conduct rule prohibits failing to fully cover specified body areas with opaque clothing.
That means an isolated swimming spot inside a Pennsylvania state park should not be treated as clothing optional just because someone online calls it secluded. Private naturist clubs are legally and operationally different from state parks, and we will list them separately once verified.
Travelers looking for a verified public beach in the broader Northeast can compare the rules with Gunnison Beach in neighboring New Jersey.
